Default New Updates next week!

Some neat stuff next week!

Quote:
Here are some of the changes we're working on for next week's update:

# For players on the European servers, there will be different districts for each supported language: English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. Players will be placed by default into the district that matches their current language preference, but they will still be able to travel to any available district.

#in order to start a guild battle -- to either issue or accept a challenge -- we will require that at least one guild officer be present on each team. This system will help guilds protect their rating by removing the potential for malicious or careless actions on the part of a guild member.

#Salvaged runes will display their profession and whether they are minor, major, or superior before being identified. Identifying will continue to be required to show the rune's attribute and to unlock the rune. This change will only impact newly salvaged runes; it will not be retroactive to existing unidentified salvaged runes.

#We are adding more boss monster locations to many high-level maps. This will improve the rate at which players can acquire elite skills by dramatically reducing the number of map clearings required to find and capture elite skills.

See, this is why I love a.net..

They are the first company I have seen which actually listens to the players, and implements a lot of their suggestions.

The salvaged rune update may also create a market for unided equipment in order to unlock runes for PvP, just what the economy needed after the sigil's price drop.

i have to say right here... this is surprising and shocking to me...

ANET IS F'ING ON THE BALL!!! In only one
other
situation had I seen the devs being so interactive with the fan base as I have here. This is amazing. When the people raise their voices, changes happen. Casinos banned, guilds protected, Europe divided into distinct languages...

Now all we need are an array of guild options for the guilds, and a PvE function for the guild halls.

Gaile: You can be sure that we'll be adding more guild features before the next chapter. In fact, some of those things are on the drawing board for implementation soon. We are, after all, Guild Wars. :-)

I might have to move back to the European servers now, hopefully others will do the same and all will be right with the force.

I'm glad they've *partly* adressed the grind by allowing PvPers to have some control over what unsalvaged armours they are purchasing from players - very nice indeed.

European districts are a nice idea, although I don't think the game is 'active' enough over here to justify it. Most missions usually have only 1 district, and I really don't like the idea of segregating places like the tombs based on language. I hope the districts aren't going to be renamed, because if say the English district is dead, I'll feel weird about travelling over to the German district for a team.

Also, preventing guild battle abuse can't be a bad thing.

Anet is by far the most responsive, on-the-ball group I've ever seen. The people put forth some suggestions and those ideas are acted upon, sometimes within a week of them being brought up, the casinos being banned, european districts seperated by language, guild battles being fixed to take care of the asses.

Really nice, this is the sort of thing that will make the game great.

Ill never move back to the european servers anyway, the american region is much more alive, whilst europe often is desolate and empty and the smaller levels. Plus they suck when it comes to HoH
